Draft Grade — Broncos
Overall B-
ValueB- NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
No fireworks, just a tidy B- for the Broncos.

You can draft well and still miss the point. The Broncos did plenty of tidy work and somehow never got around to edge rusher, which was the need that mattered most. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B-.

They will need Oke to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. Linebacker is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the edge rusher spot they never got to.

Pick Analysis
Pick31 Rnd1 Denzel Boston
In Round 1, Pick 31 they get a matchup problem out wide, outstanding value to boot. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick63 Rnd2 Darrell Jackson Jr.
A clean, defensible pick in the 63rd pick with a little surplus value in Darrell Jackson Jr.. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick95 Rnd3 Jack Endries
A conviction pick on Jack Endries at pick 95 that the board grades a round light. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick108 Rnd4 Jaishawn Barham
They paid sticker price for Jaishawn Barham in the Round 4 slot, and that is fine. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick131 Rnd4 David Oke
David Oke at pick No. 131 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick170 Rnd5 Brenen Thompson
Brenen Thompson at slot 170 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the wide receiver. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick247 Rnd7 PJ Williams
PJ Williams in No. 247 lands just on the right side of the ledger. The roster fit checks out.
Pick251 Rnd7 Ethan O'Connor
A reasonable price with a little left over, Ethan O'Connor in the 251st overall pick. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick255 Rnd7 Luke Hasz
A premium they did not need to pay, Luke Hasz a notch or two before his time. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
