Draft Grade — Ravens
Overall
D-
ValueB-
NeedB
TradesF
FutureB-
Skattebo should have been long gone. The Ravens pounced, and earned a D-. Somebody took the Ravens to the cleaners. The deals they made bled real value, and the whole class wears it. Hard to defend, and the D- reflects that.
The Nash reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped quarterback, which is a strange place to end up.
Skattebo falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch.
Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, quarterback very much included.
Pick Analysis
Pick39
Rnd2
Jonah Savaiinaea
They took Jonah Savaiinaea at par in slot 39, which is nothing to complain about. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick41
Rnd2
Trey Amos
A market-rate cornerback, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Trey Amos. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick50
Rnd2
Xavier Watts
A quiet steal in the 50th pick: Xavier Watts for less than the market said. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick60
Rnd2
Nic Scourton
They read the board right and Nic Scourton was the payoff at the Round 2 slot. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick92
Rnd3
Darius Alexander
Darius Alexander in pick 92 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick93
Rnd3
Charles Grant
Charles Grant at pick No. 93 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick112
Rnd4
Jordan Phillips
Nothing to complain about; Jordan Phillips went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick121
Rnd4
Cam Skattebo
A top-tier running back at a bargain, Cam Skattebo in slot 121, plain and simple. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick125
Rnd4
Nick Nash
Nick Nash at Round 4, Pick 23 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick137
Rnd4
Antwaun Powell-Ryland
Antwaun Powell-Ryland in pick No. 137 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick243
Rnd7
Cody Lindenberg
A wild overpay on Cody Lindenberg in the Round 7 slot, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
