Draft Grade — Ravens
Overall B
ValueB+ NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
Larceny in the Round 5 slot lands the Ravens a B, Moore and all.

You build a draft on nights like this. Rod Moore had no business being available in the 170th pick, and the Ravens did the only sane thing and turned in the card. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B.

The Alexander pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over. The tight end spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. They went 6 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.

They trusted the board more than the depth chart.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but tight end.

Pick Analysis
Pick31 Rnd1 Anthony Hill Jr.
Anthony Hill Jr. in the Round 1 slot is a gift, value that borders on unfair. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick63 Rnd2 Gennings Dunker
A straight-up fair deal on Gennings Dunker at the 63rd overall pick, value and slot in agreement. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick95 Rnd3 Jalon Kilgore
A top-tier cornerback at a bargain, Jalon Kilgore in Round 3, Pick 31, plain and simple. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick131 Rnd4 Darius Taylor
A tidy little value on Darius Taylor in pick No. 131, a step better than break-even. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick143 Rnd5 Evan Stewart
Evan Stewart in the 143rd pick is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick170 Rnd5 Rod Moore
Rod Moore at No. 170 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick172 Rnd5 Bryce Foster
Bryce Foster in pick 172 is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick175 Rnd5 Bear Alexander
They reached into another round for Bear Alexander, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick244 Rnd7 Micah Morris
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Micah Morris. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick246 Rnd7 Haynes King
They took Haynes King at par in slot 246, which is nothing to complain about. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
