RF4916 DRAFTING FOR THERavens
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Ravens
Overall

FutureB-
Good, not great, for the Ravens: B-. Boards are made to be trusted, and the Ravens shredded theirs for Wesley Williams. He came off 59 spots early, and the room will hear about it. They moved the roster forward and banked a B- for it.
The Hecht value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere. The roster is better shaped than it was, with cornerback chief among the fixes.
Almost all the early capital went to that side of the ball.
All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
Pick Analysis
Pick14
Rnd1
Olaivavega Ioane
In slot 14 they get an anchor for the offensive line, though they paid up to get him. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick45
Rnd2
Eli Stowers
Eli Stowers in pick 45 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick80
Rnd3
Antonio Williams
Antonio Williams at No. 80 is money in the bank, a wide receiver taken below his worth. The roster fit checks out.
Pick115
Rnd4
Sam Hecht
Sam Hecht at Round 4, Pick 15 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick154
Rnd5
Hezekiah Masses
Steal is underselling it; Hezekiah Masses at the 154th overall pick is a heist with the alarm still ringing. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick162
Rnd5
Zane Durant
A reach for Zane Durant in pick No. 162; a little patience would have been rewarded. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick173
Rnd5
VJ Payne
They talked themselves into VJ Payne at the Round 5 slot, and the board did not agree. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick174
Rnd5
Taylen Green
Taylen Green at the 174th pick jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick211
Rnd6
Eric McAlister
A tidy bit of business in Round 6, Pick 30, where Eric McAlister graded well above the range. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick250
Rnd7
Adam Randall
They reached a country mile for Adam Randall at slot 250, and the board is aghast. It fills a real need, too.
Pick253
Rnd7
Wesley Williams
A big swing on Wesley Williams at No. 253, well ahead of any board in the building. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
