Draft Grade — Ravens
Overall B
ValueB NeedB+ TradesB FutureB-
The Ravens checked most of the boxes and earned a B.

The Ravens clearly saw something nobody else did in LaDarius Henderson, taking him 35 picks ahead of his grade. The board is not convinced. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped running back, which is a strange place to end up. The McCaffrey steal is the beam this whole class leans on.

Job largely done: cornerback settled and 5 of 8 of the wish list covered.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but running back.

Pick Analysis
Pick23 Rnd1 Rome Odunze
In the 23rd pick they get a matchup problem out wide at a price that makes it sweeter. A real need, handled.
Pick62 Rnd2 Patrick Paul
Patrick Paul in No. 62 is fair value, right on his grade. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick108 Rnd4 Jarvis Brownlee Jr.
A straight-up fair deal on Jarvis Brownlee Jr. at the Round 4 slot, value and slot in agreement. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick113 Rnd4 Chau Smith-Wade
A premium they did not need to pay, Chau Smith-Wade a notch or two before his time. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick130 Rnd4 Mohamed Kamara
By-the-book stuff, Mohamed Kamara at slot 130 squarely in line with his ranking. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick165 Rnd5 Luke McCaffrey
A slide stopped in pick No. 165, with Luke McCaffrey worth more than the price. It fills a real need, too.
Pick218 Rnd6 LaDarius Henderson
They reached a country mile for LaDarius Henderson at Round 6, Pick 43, and the board is aghast. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick228 Rnd7 Myles Murphy
Myles Murphy in the Round 7 slot lands just on the right side of the ledger. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick250 Rnd7 Trey Taylor
A reach for Trey Taylor in slot 250; a little patience would have been rewarded. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
