Draft Grade — Ravens
Overall
B-
ValueB-
NeedB+
TradesB-
FutureB-
The Ravens robbed the room for Jones. Final grade: B-. The rest of the league will want that one back. Logan Jones tumbling to the Ravens in pick 115 is a gift they did not have to think twice about. It nets out to a B-, which feels about right.
They are betting Randall proves the room right and everyone else wrong. The quarterback spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. Cornerback was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the quarterback spot they never got to.
Pick Analysis
Pick14
Rnd1
Olaivavega Ioane
They jumped the gun on Olaivavega Ioane, taking him earlier than his grade liked. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick45
Rnd2
Joshua Josephs
By-the-book stuff, Joshua Josephs at slot 45 squarely in line with his ranking. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick80
Rnd3
Antonio Williams
The board had Antonio Williams higher than the 80th pick, and the wide receiver fell to them anyway. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick115
Rnd4
Logan Jones
You do not let an offensive lineman like Logan Jones reach Round 4, Pick 15 and blink. They did not. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick154
Rnd5
Skyler Gill-Howard
Good price on Skyler Gill-Howard in the Round 5 slot, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick162
Rnd5
Marlin Klein
Marlin Klein in pick 162 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick173
Rnd5
Dallen Bentley
Dallen Bentley at No. 173 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. The roster fit checks out.
Pick174
Rnd5
Jeff Caldwell
They liked Jeff Caldwell enough to skip the value, taking him in pick No. 174. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick211
Rnd6
Thaddeus Dixon
Thaddeus Dixon in the 211th pick is fair value, right on his grade. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick250
Rnd7
Jack Kelly
Jack Kelly at the 250th overall pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick253
Rnd7
Adam Randall
Adam Randall at pick 253 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
