Draft Grade — Ravens
Overall

FutureB-
Good, not great, for the Ravens: B-. You can fall in love with a player. You are not supposed to marry him in the wrong round. The Ravens did exactly that with John Morgan III in pick 248. They moved the roster forward and banked a B- for it.
The Johnson value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped interior defensive lineman, which is a strange place to end up.
The roster is better shaped than it was, with cornerback chief among the fixes. The offense got the lion's share of the attention.
A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
Pick Analysis
Pick30
Rnd1
Brian Thomas Jr.
In pick 30 they get a weapon on the perimeter. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick62
Rnd2
Troy Fautanu
They will replay Troy Fautanu at the Round 2 slot for years; that is how good the value is. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick93
Rnd3
Dominick Puni
Dominick Puni at No. 93 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the offensive lineman. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick131
Rnd4
Caelen Carson
Caelen Carson at pick No. 131 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick134
Rnd4
Jaylen Harrell
Jaylen Harrell in slot 134 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. The roster fit checks out.
Pick164
Rnd5
Jaylan Ford
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Jaylan Ford well ahead of where he belonged. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick226
Rnd7
Dillon Johnson
Dillon Johnson at Round 7, Pick 6 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick248
Rnd7
John Morgan III
A wild overpay on John Morgan III in the 248th pick, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
