Draft Grade — Ravens
Overall

FutureB-
The Ravens cashed the board's mistake on Kiser: B-. Somewhere a general manager is explaining how Jack Kiser got past him. The Ravens do not have to explain a thing at pick 212.
They will need Lachey to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. They punted on quarterback, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.
The roster is better shaped than it was, with cornerback chief among the fixes.
Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.
Pick Analysis
Pick27
Rnd1
Jalon Walker
In the 27th pick they get a downhill thumper at linebacker. More want than need.
Pick59
Rnd2
Azareye'h Thomas
A market-rate cornerback, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Azareye'h Thomas. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick91
Rnd3
Charles Grant
A straight-up fair deal on Charles Grant at the Round 3 slot, value and slot in agreement. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick129
Rnd4
Billy Bowman Jr.
Billy Bowman Jr. in slot 129 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick139
Rnd5
Aeneas Peebles
They paid sticker price for Aeneas Peebles in pick No. 139, and that is fine. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick176
Rnd5
Damien Martinez
Damien Martinez at pick 176 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick183
Rnd6
Luke Lachey
Luke Lachey at Round 6, Pick 7 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick203
Rnd6
Jaylen Reed
Nice patience on Jaylen Reed, who had no business lasting to No. 203. Insurance at a position that did not really ask for it.
Pick210
Rnd6
Jalen McLeod
A clean, defensible pick in pick No. 210 with a little surplus value in Jalen McLeod. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick212
Rnd6
Jack Kiser
Circle this one: Jack Kiser at the 212th pick is a fall that decides a draft. A want more than a need, though you can never have too many.
Pick243
Rnd7
Roc Taylor
The board had cheaper options than Roc Taylor at slot 243, and it noticed. It fills a real need, too.
