The Ravens let Jennings fall into their laps, and walked away with a D. Boards are made to be trusted, and the Ravens shredded theirs for Nazir Stackhouse. He came off 34 spots early, and the room will hear about it. The process wobbled, and the D is where it lands.
Overpaying at the table undid a lot of the good work elsewhere. Jennings falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch.
Leaving offensive lineman unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. Cornerback is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even, and offensive lineman is still a hole.
Pick Analysis
Pick29
Rnd1
Xavier Legette
Xavier Legette in No. 29 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick34
Rnd2
Rome Odunze
Steal is underselling it; Rome Odunze at slot 34 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick61
Rnd2
Nazir Stackhouse
Nazir Stackhouse at Round 2, Pick 29 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick92
Rnd3
Denzel Burke
They robbed the room for Denzel Burke here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick129
Rnd4
Devontez Walker
Devontez Walker in Round 4, Pick 29 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick166
Rnd5
Fabien Lovett
They paid up for Fabien Lovett at No. 166 when waiting would have done the job. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick250
Rnd7
Ali Jennings
Ali Jennings in slot 250 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. It fills a real need, too.
