Draft Grade — Ravens
Overall
B-
ValueC+

TradesB-
FutureB-
The Ravens kept it disciplined and banked a B-. The tape said wait; the Ravens did not. Raheim Sanders went at the 129th overall pick, a good 48 picks before the board was ready. No fireworks, but a solid B-.
The cornerback spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. Spending an early pick on defensive back with cornerback, interior defensive lineman and other spots open is the decision the grade keeps circling back to. Offensive lineman was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
Pick Analysis
Pick29
Rnd1
Jared Verse
Jared Verse in slot 29 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick61
Rnd2
Amarius Mims
They paid a round early for Amarius Mims in the 61st overall pick, more than the board wanted. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick92
Rnd3
Max Melton
Of all the spots to shop, they chose defensive back. Max Melton in pick 92 leaves cornerback, interior defensive lineman and other spots for later.
Pick129
Rnd4
Raheim Sanders
They reached a country mile for Raheim Sanders at the 129th pick, and the board is aghast. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick134
Rnd4
Tyler Guyton
They took Tyler Guyton at par in the Round 4 slot, which is nothing to complain about. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
