ZantiGM DRAFTING FOR THEBrowns
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Browns
Overall
B-
ValueC
NeedB+
TradesB-
FutureB-
The Browns did the meat-and-potatoes work well: B-. The Browns clearly saw something nobody else did in Fadil Diggs, taking him 123 picks ahead of his grade. The board is not convinced. Good, not great, and the B- says as much.
Mafah falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch. For all the activity, wide receiver went untouched, which is hard to explain.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but wide receiver.
Pick Analysis
Pick2
Rnd1
Travis Hunter
In the Round 1 slot they get a lockdown presence outside. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick33
Rnd2
Bradyn Swinson
They talked themselves into Bradyn Swinson at slot 33, and the board did not agree. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick67
Rnd3
Jordan Burch
Jordan Burch in No. 67 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick94
Rnd3
Elijah Roberts
They reached a country mile for Elijah Roberts at Round 3, Pick 30, and the board is aghast. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick103
Rnd4
Fadil Diggs
Fadil Diggs at pick 103 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick165
Rnd5
Kurtis Rourke
Kurtis Rourke in the 165th pick should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick181
Rnd6
Zeek Biggers
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Zeek Biggers. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick194
Rnd6
Dayon Hayes
Dayon Hayes at No. 194 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick202
Rnd6
Clay Webb
Value said wait; Clay Webb in pick 202 says they were not listening. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick216
Rnd6
Jordan Hancock
Jordan Hancock in pick No. 216 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick217
Rnd6
Phil Mafah
They robbed the room for Phil Mafah here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick257
Rnd7
Shaun Dolac
Shaun Dolac at the 257th pick is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
