Grand theft in the Round 5 slot: the Ravens steal Smith and grade out a A-. The board owed the Ravens one, and it paid up: Donovan Smith, the No. 95 name on the board, sitting there at slot 159 like a gift left on the doorstep.
Reaching for Giddens left real value on the table behind him. The phones were where this weekend was really won.
The interior defensive lineman spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. The veteran additions, Ty'Ron Hopper chief among them, give the class a floor the rookies alone would not.
In the end it comes back to Tahj Brooks, and a haul good enough to build on right away.
