Draft Grade — Ravens
Overall B-
ValueC+ NeedB+ TradesB FutureB-
The Ravens kept it disciplined and banked a B-.

If confidence were a draft strategy, the Ravens would have aced it. Tywone Malone at Round 6, Pick 30 is 127 spots clear of where he belonged.

Leaving quarterback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. Landing Rucker that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. Cornerback is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

The offense got the lion's share of the attention.

Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.

Pick Analysis
Pick31 Rnd1 Tre Harris
No drama and no debate, Tre Harris went about where he belonged in pick 31. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick62 Rnd2 Earnest Greene III
They took Earnest Greene III at par in the 62nd overall pick, which is nothing to complain about. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick94 Rnd3 Kaimon Rucker
Kaimon Rucker in Round 3, Pick 30 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick95 Rnd3 Devin Neal
By-the-book stuff, Devin Neal at slot 95 squarely in line with his ranking. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick126 Rnd4 DJ Campbell
A premium they did not need to pay, DJ Campbell a notch or two before his time. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick158 Rnd5 Dorian Strong
Dorian Strong in pick No. 158 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick190 Rnd6 Tywone Malone
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Tywone Malone well ahead of where he belonged. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick222 Rnd7 Mario Williams
Mario Williams is a better player than slot 222 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
