Draft Grade — Seahawks
Overall B+
ValueB NeedB TradesA+ FutureB
Smith should have been long gone. The Seahawks pounced, and earned a B+.

Call it larceny. Brashard Smith sat on the board until No. 209, and the Seahawks did not need to be asked twice.

Reaching for Miller left real value on the table behind him. The dealing alone would carry a lesser class. For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain.

The Seahawks clearly valued win-now help, adding bodies who have done it before.

Good work on the whole, with edge rusher the one box left unchecked.

Pick Analysis
Pick58 Rnd2 Tyler Booker
Somehow Tyler Booker was still sitting there in No. 58, and they pounced on premier offensive lineman value. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick82 Rnd3 Colston Loveland
They will replay Colston Loveland at pick No. 82 for years; that is how good the value is. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick136 Rnd4 Sebastian Castro
Sebastian Castro in the 136th pick should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick148 Rnd5 Cam Miller
Cam Miller at slot 148 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick171 Rnd5 Smael Mondon Jr.
Smael Mondon Jr. at the 171st overall pick is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick173 Rnd5 Connor Colby
Connor Colby at Round 5, Pick 36 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick183 Rnd6 Davison Igbinosun
Davison Igbinosun in pick 183 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick209 Rnd6 Brashard Smith
Taking Brashard Smith in the Round 6 slot is close to grand larceny; a running back that good had no business lasting this long. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick210 Rnd6 Tonka Hemingway
Tonka Hemingway at pick No. 210 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It fills a real need, too.
Pick234 Rnd7 Deion Burks
They reached into another round for Deion Burks, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
