Every so often the board makes a mistake, and the Bears were there to profit. Barrett Carter, the No. 79 name on the board, should have been long gone before the Round 5 slot.

The dealing is the wound this class cannot quite close. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through edge rusher.

They left with running back solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off. The offense got the lion's share of the attention.
