Howy21 DRAFTING FOR THEJets

Draft Grade — Jets
Overall

FutureB-
Quarterback settled, Moore in the fold, and a B for the Jets. They finally answered the question that shadows every other one. Dante Moore is the Jets' quarterback, full stop. More right than wrong, and a B to match.
A whole weekend of picks and edge rusher is somehow still a want. That Stockton pick is the receipt they will wave around later.
They are betting Smith proves the room right and everyone else wrong.
In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
Pick Analysis
Pick3
Rnd1
Dante Moore
In the Round 1 slot they get the arm they will build around at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick18
Rnd1
Carnell Tate
In No. 18 they get a home-run threat at receiver. A real need, handled.
Pick34
Rnd2
Anthony Hill Jr.
By-the-book stuff, Anthony Hill Jr. at the 34th pick squarely in line with his ranking. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick46
Rnd2
Brandon Cisse
They took Brandon Cisse at par in the 46th overall pick, which is nothing to complain about. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick104
Rnd4
Caleb Tiernan
The board had Caleb Tiernan higher than slot 104, and the offensive lineman fell to them anyway. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick176
Rnd5
Jalen Stroman
They let Jalen Stroman come to them and pounced at pick 176. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick178
Rnd5
Connor Tollison
A straight-up fair deal on Connor Tollison at Round 5, Pick 39, value and slot in agreement. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick196
Rnd6
Gunner Stockton
Gunner Stockton in pick No. 196 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick205
Rnd6
Oscar Delp
Oscar Delp in slot 205 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick212
Rnd6
Quintrevion Wisner
Quintrevion Wisner at Round 6, Pick 31 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It fills a real need, too.
Pick218
Rnd7
Evan Stewart
A quiet steal in pick No. 218: Evan Stewart for less than the market said. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick239
Rnd7
James Smith
The board had cheaper options than James Smith at the 239th overall pick, and it noticed. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
