Draft Grade — Rams
Overall B
ValueA- NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
Best value of the weekend goes to the Rams for Shough: B.

You build a draft on nights like this. Tyler Shough had no business being available in slot 195, and the Rams did the only sane thing and turned in the card.

The safety hole is the one line item this class does not answer. The Jackson pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over.

They left with wide receiver solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off. Almost all the early capital went to that side of the ball.

Good work on the whole, with safety the one box left unchecked.

Pick Analysis
Pick26 Rnd1 Tyler Warren
In pick 26 they get a moveable chess piece at tight end, and a steal at that. A real need, handled.
Pick90 Rnd3 Marcus Mbow
Marcus Mbow at the Round 3 slot is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick101 Rnd3 Omarr Norman-Lott
They will replay Omarr Norman-Lott at slot 101 for years; that is how good the value is. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick127 Rnd4 Smael Mondon Jr.
The board fumbled Smael Mondon Jr. all the way to pick No. 127, and they scooped it up. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick195 Rnd6 Tyler Shough
Taking Tyler Shough in the 195th pick is close to grand larceny; a quarterback that good had no business lasting this long. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick201 Rnd6 Ajani Cornelius
Ajani Cornelius at Round 6, Pick 25 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick202 Rnd6 Dont'e Thornton Jr.
Dont'e Thornton Jr. in the 202nd overall pick should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick205 Rnd6 Cam Jackson
They paid up for Cam Jackson at No. 205 when waiting would have done the job. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick245 Rnd7 Isaac TeSlaa
They robbed the room for Isaac TeSlaa here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
