Flashes of a plan, unevenly run, for the Rams: C.

The Rams' one glaring miss is safety, a need they left exactly as they found it.

They will need Sweat to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. A small leak at the table, if not a fatal one.

The bill for those future picks comes due whether the class hits or not. Wide receiver was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.

Hit on Brian Thomas Jr. and the swing picks, and this ages a lot better than it grades today.

Pick Analysis
Pick19 Rnd1 Brian Thomas Jr.
In pick 19 they get a matchup problem out wide. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick34 Rnd2 T'Vondre Sweat
T'Vondre Sweat at Round 2, Pick 2 jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick52 Rnd2 T.J. Tampa
T.J. Tampa at No. 52 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the cornerback. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick71 Rnd3 Jaylen Wright
They paid a round early for Jaylen Wright in the 71st pick, more than the board wanted. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick83 Rnd3 Brandon Dorlus
Brandon Dorlus in slot 83 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick153 Rnd5 Mason McCormick
Mason McCormick at the 153rd overall pick is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick154 Rnd5 Jarrian Jones
A tidy little value on Jarrian Jones in pick No. 154, a step better than break-even. Nice player, but the depth chart did not need him here.
