Good, not great, for the Rams: B-. You can hear the double-takes from here. The Rams took Theo Johnson at the 100th overall pick, roughly 36 spots before his name belonged.
The safety spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Rakestraw Jr.. The roster is better shaped than it was, with wide receiver chief among the fixes.
The Darnell Washington pickup adds a known quantity to a class of unknowns.
Good work on the whole, with safety the one box left unchecked.
Pick Analysis
Pick20
Rnd1
Brian Thomas Jr.
In No. 20 they get a difference-maker at receiver at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick34
Rnd2
Jordan Morgan
They took Jordan Morgan at par in the 34th overall pick, which is nothing to complain about. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick52
Rnd2
Ennis Rakestraw Jr.
They read the board right and Ennis Rakestraw Jr. was the payoff at pick 52. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick83
Rnd3
Jaylen Wright
Jaylen Wright in Round 3, Pick 19 lands just on the right side of the ledger. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick84
Rnd3
Cooper Beebe
A tidy bit of business in the 84th pick, where Cooper Beebe graded well above the range. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick100
Rnd3
Theo Johnson
They reached into another round for Theo Johnson, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. It fills a real need, too.
Pick154
Rnd5
Khristian Boyd
Khristian Boyd at Round 5, Pick 18 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
