Draft Grade — Rams
Overall
C-
ValueB-
NeedA-
TradesF
FutureD-
The Rams bled value on every deal, hence the C-. The trade table was where it all came apart. The Rams shipped out far more than they hauled back, and no amount of spin dresses up the bill.
They will need Robinson to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through quarterback.
If Rome Odunze and a couple of the gambles land, hindsight will be kinder than this grade.
Pick Analysis
Pick11
Rnd1
Rome Odunze
In pick No. 11 they get a No. 1 receiver. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick41
Rnd2
Kingsley Suamataia
Kingsley Suamataia in the 41st overall pick is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick83
Rnd3
Calen Bullock
Nice patience on Calen Bullock, who had no business lasting to Round 3, Pick 19. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick153
Rnd5
Layden Robinson
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Layden Robinson. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick154
Rnd5
Dillon Johnson
They liked Dillon Johnson enough to skip the value, taking him in pick 154. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
