If confidence were a draft strategy, the Rams would have aced it. Jordan Jefferson at Round 5, Pick 18 is 32 spots clear of where he belonged. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B-.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped quarterback, which is a strange place to end up. Job largely done: wide receiver settled and 5 of 8 of the wish list covered. Nearly every premium pick went to that side of the ball.

In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
