Draft Grade — Rams
Overall B
ValueB NeedB TradesB+ FutureB
The Rams did the meat-and-potatoes work well: B.

The Rams spent real capital to be 94 picks early on Jamaree Caldwell, and the board is going to hold them to it. It nets out to a B, which feels about right.

However the rest shakes out, Simon at that price is a win they earned. Leaving running back unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.

Wide receiver is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it. They squeezed a little extra out of every move they made.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.

Pick Analysis
Pick26 Rnd1 Tyler Warren
Value with a capital V on Tyler Warren in the Round 1 slot, a genuine coup. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick100 Rnd3 Carson Schwesinger
They read the board right and Carson Schwesinger was the payoff at No. 100. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick126 Rnd4 Andrew Mukuba
Andrew Mukuba in Round 4, Pick 25 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick198 Rnd6 Cody Simon
Steal is underselling it; Cody Simon at slot 198 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. Pure best-available; the position was not exactly begging.
Pick203 Rnd6 Jamaree Caldwell
Jamaree Caldwell in the 203rd pick is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick204 Rnd6 Upton Stout
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Upton Stout in the 204th overall pick. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick246 Rnd7 Will Sheppard
A big swing on Will Sheppard at the 246th pick, well ahead of any board in the building. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
