Draft Grade — Rams
Overall B-
ValueB- NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
No fireworks, just a tidy B- for the Rams.

For all the names on the card, the loudest question went unanswered. The Rams walked out of the weekend still thin at running back, a hole that has a way of deciding seasons.

The Wallace steal is the beam this whole class leans on. The Walker reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade.

Job largely done: wide receiver settled and 6 of 8 of the wish list covered. The weekend tilted hard toward the defense.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.

Pick Analysis
Pick19 Rnd1 Dallas Turner
In slot 19 they get a double-digit-sack hope at fair value. A real need, handled.
Pick52 Rnd2 Devontez Walker
They liked Devontez Walker enough to skip the value, taking him in pick No. 52. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick83 Rnd3 Kris Abrams-Draine
A clean, defensible pick in the 83rd pick with a little surplus value in Kris Abrams-Draine. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick100 Rnd3 Leonard Taylor III
Leonard Taylor III at the Round 3 slot is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick153 Rnd5 Kitan Oladapo
A market-rate safety, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Kitan Oladapo. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick154 Rnd5 Marist Liufau
Marist Liufau at pick 154 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick177 Rnd6 Ty'Ron Hopper
No drama and no debate, Ty'Ron Hopper went about where he belonged in Round 6, Pick 2. A want dressed up as a pick, at a spot they had covered.
Pick191 Rnd6 Joe Milton III
Joe Milton III at No. 191 jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick212 Rnd6 Josh Proctor
Josh Proctor at the 212th overall pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick218 Rnd6 Nathan Thomas
A slide stopped in No. 218, with Nathan Thomas worth more than the price. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick253 Rnd7 Trevin Wallace
They read the board right and Trevin Wallace was the payoff at pick No. 253. A luxury on a unit that was already in good shape.
Pick254 Rnd7 LaDarius Henderson
LaDarius Henderson at Round 7, Pick 34 is money in the bank, a offensive lineman taken below his worth. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
