Draft Grade — Rams
Overall B
ValueB NeedB TradesA- FutureC
The Rams let Washington fall into their laps, and walked away with a B.

Somebody in pick No. 213 was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Rams sat still while Tahj Washington, the No. 179 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium.

They punted on safety, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. Job largely done: wide receiver settled and 5 of 8 of the wish list covered. The trade work was a quiet net positive.

The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.

A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.

Pick Analysis
Pick19 Rnd1 Taliese Fuaga
In No. 19 they get a long-term starter on the line. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick26 Rnd1 Chop Robinson
In the 26th pick they get a problem off the edge at fair value. A real need, handled.
Pick83 Rnd3 Michael Hall Jr.
Michael Hall Jr. at the 83rd overall pick is money in the bank, a interior defensive lineman taken below his worth. It fills a real need, too.
Pick99 Rnd3 Brandon Dorlus
Brandon Dorlus in slot 99 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick122 Rnd4 Brenden Rice
By-the-book stuff, Brenden Rice at Round 4, Pick 22 squarely in line with his ranking. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick196 Rnd6 Kalen King
Kalen King in pick 196 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick209 Rnd6 Blake Watson
Good price on Blake Watson in the Round 6 slot, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick213 Rnd6 Tahj Washington
Circle this one: Tahj Washington at pick No. 213 is a fall that decides a draft. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick217 Rnd6 Nathaniel Watson
A tidy bit of business in the 217th overall pick, where Nathaniel Watson graded well above the range. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick254 Rnd7 Jacob Monk
A top-tier offensive lineman at a bargain, Jacob Monk in pick 254, plain and simple. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
