Draft Grade — Rams

FutureB-
Means should have been long gone. The Rams pounced, and earned a B-. When a board-topper like Bub Means slides to the Round 7 slot, you do not overthink it, and the Rams did not.
Leaving quarterback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. The Edwards pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over. They went 6 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the quarterback spot they never got to.
Pick Analysis
Pick19
Rnd1
Brian Thomas Jr.
In the Round 1 slot they get a difference-maker at receiver. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick52
Rnd2
Michael Hall Jr.
Michael Hall Jr. at pick 52 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick83
Rnd3
Jonah Elliss
They paid sticker price for Jonah Elliss in slot 83, and that is fine. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick99
Rnd3
Roger Rosengarten
They took Roger Rosengarten at par in Round 3, Pick 36, which is nothing to complain about. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick154
Rnd5
McKinnley Jackson
McKinnley Jackson at the 154th pick is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. The roster fit checks out.
Pick155
Rnd5
Tykee Smith
They did well to land Tykee Smith in pick No. 155, just ahead of his grade. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick196
Rnd6
Edefuan Ulofoshio
They liked Edefuan Ulofoshio enough to skip the value, taking him in the 196th overall pick. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick209
Rnd6
M.J. Devonshire
Nothing to complain about; M.J. Devonshire went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick213
Rnd6
Garret Greenfield
They jumped the gun on Garret Greenfield, taking him earlier than his grade liked. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick217
Rnd6
Daijun Edwards
Daijun Edwards at Round 6, Pick 42 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick254
Rnd7
Bub Means
A wide receiver of that caliber at pick No. 254 is the definition of value, full stop. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
