Neal should have been long gone. The Rams pounced, and earned a B-.

The rest of the league will want that one back. Devin Neal tumbling to the Rams in Round 6, Pick 19 is a gift they did not have to think twice about.

Reaching for Thornton Jr. left real value on the table behind him. Leaving safety unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.

The roster is better shaped than it was, with wide receiver chief among the fixes. Almost all the early capital went to that side of the ball.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the safety spot they never got to.
