The Rams kept it disciplined and banked a B-. You can hear the double-takes from here. The Rams took Keilan Robinson at slot 217, roughly 93 spots before his name belonged. No fireworks, but a solid B-.
The quarterback hole is the one line item this class does not answer. Braswell at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster.
Wide receiver was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job. Nearly every premium pick went to that side of the ball.
Good work on the whole, with quarterback the one box left unchecked.
Pick Analysis
Pick19
Rnd1
Terrion Arnold
In the Round 1 slot they get a ballhawk on the outside. More want than need.
Pick52
Rnd2
Chris Braswell
The board had Chris Braswell higher than pick 52, and the edge rusher fell to them anyway. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick83
Rnd3
Brenden Rice
A reach on Brenden Rice in the 83rd overall pick; the board had better options right there. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick99
Rnd3
Cedric Gray
A premium they did not need to pay, Cedric Gray a notch or two before his time. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick154
Rnd5
Tykee Smith
They took Tykee Smith at par in pick No. 154, which is nothing to complain about. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick155
Rnd5
Walter Rouse
They liked Walter Rouse enough to skip the value, taking him in No. 155. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick196
Rnd6
Nathan Thomas
Value said wait; Nathan Thomas in Round 6, Pick 21 says they were not listening. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick209
Rnd6
Josh Proctor
A wild overpay on Josh Proctor in the 209th pick, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick213
Rnd6
Gabe Hall
No edge and no loss on Gabe Hall in the 213th overall pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick217
Rnd6
Keilan Robinson
A real head-scratcher, Keilan Robinson in pick No. 217 is miles ahead of his ranking. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick254
Rnd7
Eyabi Okie-Anoma
They talked themselves into Eyabi Okie-Anoma at slot 254, and the board did not agree. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
