Somewhere a scout is still blinking. The Rams spent slot 218 on Joshua Cephus, a name the board had a full 36 spots lower.

They lost the exchange badly enough to drag the whole class down. Whatever Jayden Daniels becomes, the front office has tied its fortunes to the answer. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped running back, which is a strange place to end up.

That is a cornerback worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. It is a win-now wager, and the future is the stake.

Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, running back very much included.
