The Rams cashed the board's mistake on Hadden: B-. Call it larceny. Kamal Hadden sat on the board until pick No. 209, and the Rams did not need to be asked twice. It does the job without flash, and the B- reflects it.
Every board in the league had Okie-Anoma lower, and that gap is the story. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through quarterback.
The roster is better shaped than it was, with wide receiver chief among the fixes.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.
Pick Analysis
Pick19
Rnd1
Dallas Turner
Dallas Turner at the 19th overall pick is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the edge rusher. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick52
Rnd2
Kamari Lassiter
A slide stopped in No. 52, with Kamari Lassiter worth more than the price. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick83
Rnd3
Michael Hall Jr.
No edge and no loss on Michael Hall Jr. in pick No. 83; it is a wash and a sensible one. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick99
Rnd3
Braelon Allen
Braelon Allen in Round 3, Pick 36 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick154
Rnd5
Marist Liufau
A reach on Marist Liufau in slot 154; the board had better options right there. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick155
Rnd5
Jordan Jefferson
Jordan Jefferson in pick 155 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. It fills a real need, too.
Pick196
Rnd6
Julian Pearl
Julian Pearl in the 196th pick is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick209
Rnd6
Kamal Hadden
A top-tier cornerback at a bargain, Kamal Hadden in the Round 6 slot, plain and simple. Depth on depth, at a spot that was hardly crying out.
Pick213
Rnd6
Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint
Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint in slot 213 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick217
Rnd6
Evan Williams
A reasonable price with a little left over, Evan Williams in the 217th overall pick. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick254
Rnd7
Eyabi Okie-Anoma
Eyabi Okie-Anoma at pick 254 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
