Draft Grade — Rams
Overall B-
ValueB- NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
The steal of the weekend belongs to the Rams and Williams: B-.

Somebody in slot 217 was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Rams sat still while Isaiah Williams, the No. 185 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium.

Reaching for Vidal left real value on the table behind him. The Hart pick reads as want over need, and the roster will feel it at quarterback. They punted on quarterback, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.

Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.

Pick Analysis
Pick19 Rnd1 Quinyon Mitchell
In slot 19 they get a lockdown presence outside. More want than need.
Pick52 Rnd2 Ricky Pearsall
Ricky Pearsall in pick No. 52 is fair value, right on his grade. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick83 Rnd3 Patrick Paul
Value with a capital V on Patrick Paul in Round 3, Pick 19, a genuine coup. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick98 Rnd3 Cam Hart
A want over a need in pick 98: Cam Hart adds a cornerback while quarterback keeps waiting.
Pick153 Rnd5 Jaheim Bell
A premium they did not need to pay, Jaheim Bell a notch or two before his time. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick154 Rnd5 Xavier Thomas
No drama and no debate, Xavier Thomas went about where he belonged in the 154th pick. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick195 Rnd6 Sione Vaki
They barely believed it either: Sione Vaki still on the board at the Round 6 slot. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick209 Rnd6 Kimani Vidal
A wild overpay on Kimani Vidal in the 209th overall pick, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick213 Rnd6 Myles Murphy
A market-rate interior defensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Myles Murphy. The roster fit checks out.
Pick217 Rnd6 Isaiah Williams
The board fumbled Isaiah Williams all the way to No. 217, and they scooped it up. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick254 Rnd7 Trevin Wallace
A linebacker of that caliber at Round 7, Pick 34 is the definition of value, full stop. A minor need, but a need all the same.
