Draft Grade — Rams
Overall B-
ValueB- NeedB TradesB FutureB-
The Rams checked most of the boxes and earned a B-.

Nobody else had Jaheim Bell anywhere near pick 125. The Rams did, by 38 spots, and that gap is the whole story. Good, not great, and the B- says as much.

It is not that Hart is a bad player; it is that the Rams had louder needs to answer first. Leaving quarterback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. The Wallace value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere.

A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.

Pick Analysis
Pick25 Rnd1 Amarius Mims
A tidy little value on Amarius Mims in pick 25, a step better than break-even. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick52 Rnd2 Kris Jenkins
A reasonable price with a little left over, Kris Jenkins in Round 2, Pick 20. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick62 Rnd2 Max Melton
Max Melton at the 62nd pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick100 Rnd3 Cam Hart
Of all the spots to shop, they chose cornerback. Cam Hart in the Round 3 slot leaves quarterback and interior defensive lineman for later.
Pick103 Rnd4 Braelon Allen
They took Braelon Allen at par in the 103rd overall pick, which is nothing to complain about. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick125 Rnd4 Jaheim Bell
Jaheim Bell in pick No. 125 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. It fills a real need, too.
Pick137 Rnd5 Cedric Gray
Cedric Gray slid further than he should have, and the 137th overall pick is lovely value for the linebacker. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick141 Rnd5 Luke McCaffrey
Luke McCaffrey at the 141st pick is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick161 Rnd5 Sione Vaki
The board had cheaper options than Sione Vaki at Round 5, Pick 25, and it noticed. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick177 Rnd6 Khristian Boyd
They paid sticker price for Khristian Boyd in No. 177, and that is fine. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick195 Rnd6 Caedan Wallace
They let Caedan Wallace come to them and pounced at pick 195. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick209 Rnd6 Jaylan Ford
A quiet steal in the Round 6 slot: Jaylan Ford for less than the market said. A luxury on a unit that was already in good shape.
Pick213 Rnd6 Josh Proctor
No edge and no loss on Josh Proctor in pick No. 213; it is a wash and a sensible one. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick226 Rnd7 Trevin Wallace
They went early on Trevin Wallace in slot 226, and the value did not follow. They added to a strength when a need was still open elsewhere.
Pick254 Rnd7 Kimani Vidal
Kimani Vidal in Round 7, Pick 34 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
