Draft Grade — Rams
Overall
B-
ValueB-
NeedB
TradesB-
FutureB-
The Rams let James fall and pounced. Final grade: B-. Call it larceny. Jordan James sat on the board until No. 122, and the Rams did not need to be asked twice. Good, not great, and the B- says as much.
Reaching for Pierce left real value on the table behind him. Leaving wide receiver unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. They left with safety solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but wide receiver.
Pick Analysis
Pick21
Rnd1
Jack Sawyer
In the Round 1 slot they get juice off the edge. A real need, handled.
Pick83
Rnd3
Hollin Pierce
They talked themselves into Hollin Pierce at pick No. 83, and the board did not agree. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick101
Rnd3
Deontae Lawson
They read the board right and Deontae Lawson was the payoff at the 101st pick. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick122
Rnd4
Jordan James
Jordan James at Round 4, Pick 21 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick192
Rnd6
Davison Igbinosun
They left a pile of value on the table to take Davison Igbinosun this early at slot 192. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick194
Rnd6
Sonny Styles
Steal is underselling it; Sonny Styles at pick 194 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick200
Rnd6
Miles Frazier
A reach for Miles Frazier in the 200th overall pick; a little patience would have been rewarded. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
