Draft Grade — Rams
Overall D
ValueB+ NeedB TradesF FutureB-
Majors should have been long gone. The Rams pounced, and earned a D.

Nobody had Xavier Truss this high, and it is not close. The Rams reached 79 spots to get him at pick 225. A weekend that fought the value and lost, hence the D.

The Majors value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere. They lost the exchange badly enough to drag the whole class down. The safety hole is the one line item this class does not answer.

The imported veterans give this class a floor the draft picks could not on their own.

In the end, a class the front office will want to grow past quickly.

Pick Analysis
Pick26 Rnd1 Walter Nolen
In slot 26 they get a run-stuffing presence up front, and a steal at that. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick83 Rnd3 Demetrius Knight Jr.
They will replay Demetrius Knight Jr. at pick No. 83 for years; that is how good the value is. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick90 Rnd3 Ozzy Trapilo
No drama and no debate, Ozzy Trapilo went about where he belonged in the 90th pick. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick100 Rnd3 Harold Fannin Jr.
A tight end of that caliber at the 100th overall pick is the definition of value, full stop. It fills a real need, too.
Pick126 Rnd4 Pat Bryant
A wild overpay on Pat Bryant in the 126th pick, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick145 Rnd5 Quinshon Judkins
Quinshon Judkins at Round 5, Pick 6 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick192 Rnd6 Jake Majors
Taking Jake Majors in slot 192 is close to grand larceny; an offensive lineman that good had no business lasting this long. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick203 Rnd6 Kyle Williams
Kyle Williams in No. 203 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick214 Rnd6 Jay Higgins
Somehow Jay Higgins was still sitting there in pick No. 214, and they pounced on premier linebacker value. It is more luxury than necessity; they were already set here.
Pick225 Rnd7 Xavier Truss
A big swing on Xavier Truss at pick 225, well ahead of any board in the building. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
