Draft Grade — Rams
Overall D-
ValueB- NeedB TradesF FutureC
The Rams got the worse of every deal, and it shows in the D-.

The war room fell hard for Jalen Travis, and it showed at Round 6, Pick 26: 76 picks ahead of a board that had other ideas. The math is unkind, and the D- follows.

The trades bled value they could not afford to lose. However the rest shakes out, Simon at that price is a win they earned.

If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through safety. They are betting the present roster is worth a lighter draft next spring.

Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even, and safety is still a hole.

Pick Analysis
Pick17 Rnd1 Tyler Warren
In No. 17 they get a moveable chess piece at tight end. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick51 Rnd2 Trey Amos
A market-rate cornerback, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Trey Amos. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick53 Rnd2 Dylan Sampson
Dylan Sampson at pick 53 jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick65 Rnd3 Jalen Royals
Good price on Jalen Royals in the 65th overall pick, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick100 Rnd3 Darius Alexander
A wild overpay on Darius Alexander in pick No. 100, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick192 Rnd6 Cody Simon
They robbed the room for Cody Simon here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick204 Rnd6 Jalen Travis
Jalen Travis in the 204th pick is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
