Draft Grade — Raiders
Overall A-
ValueB- NeedB TradesA+ FutureA+
The Raiders found their guy under center in Dart: A-.

The one hole that towered over the rest is filled. The Raiders spent their marquee pick on Jaxson Dart, and for the first time in a while there is a real answer at quarterback. Little to argue with here, and the A- says so.

Walker falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch. The Muhammad reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade. The dealing alone would carry a lesser class.

For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain.

In short, they turned a good board into a better roster, and it shows.

Pick Analysis
Pick27 Rnd1 Jaxson Dart
In slot 27 they get the face of the franchise, even if it was a touch early.
Pick37 Rnd2 Nick Emmanwori
A safety of that caliber at pick 37 is the definition of value, full stop. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick68 Rnd3 Jalon Walker
The board fumbled Jalon Walker all the way to Round 3, Pick 4, and they scooped it up. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick91 Rnd3 Darien Porter
Darien Porter slid further than he should have, and the 91st pick is lovely value for the cornerback. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick97 Rnd3 Xavier Restrepo
They went early on Xavier Restrepo in pick No. 97, and the value did not follow. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick108 Rnd4 Cam Skattebo
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Cam Skattebo at the 108th overall pick. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick129 Rnd4 Emery Jones Jr.
Emery Jones Jr. slipping to No. 129 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick143 Rnd5 O'Donnell Fortune
A conviction pick on O'Donnell Fortune at the Round 5 slot that the board grades a round light. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick180 Rnd6 Jack Kiser
They took Jack Kiser at par in slot 180, which is nothing to complain about. They added to a strength when a need was still open elsewhere.
Pick203 Rnd6 Jabbar Muhammad
Jabbar Muhammad at the Round 6 slot is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick213 Rnd6 Jay Higgins
The board had Jay Higgins higher than Round 6, Pick 37, and the linebacker fell to them anyway. A want more than a need, though you can never have too many.
Pick215 Rnd6 Theo Wease Jr.
They left a pile of value on the table to take Theo Wease Jr. this early at No. 215. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick222 Rnd7 Ty Hamilton
Ty Hamilton at pick 222 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. A need, and now a little less of one.
