The board owed the Jaguars one, and it paid up: Jackson Arnold, the No. 206 name on the board, sitting there at No. 246 like a gift left on the doorstep. A dependable weekend that grades out a B-.

Reaching for Jackson Jr. left real value on the table behind him. They will answer for taking edge rusher early while interior defensive lineman, linebacker and other spots went begging. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped interior defensive lineman, which is a strange place to end up.

A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
