Draft Grade — Dolphins

FutureB-
Robertson should have been long gone. The Dolphins pounced, and earned a B-. The best pick of the weekend was also the simplest. The Dolphins watched Sawyer Robertson slide 31 picks past his grade and did not hesitate.
If Dunker pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about. The edge rusher spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.
On the needs board they went 5 of 8, with quarterback the one that mattered most. The offense got the lion's share of the attention.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick Analysis
Pick12
Rnd1
Gennings Dunker
In Round 1, Pick 12 they get a cornerstone up front, reach and all. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick46
Rnd2
Garrett Nussmeier
A straight-up fair deal on Garrett Nussmeier at the 46th overall pick, value and slot in agreement. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick77
Rnd3
A.J. Haulcy
A.J. Haulcy in slot 77 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick85
Rnd3
Ian Strong
A slide stopped in the Round 3 slot, with Ian Strong worth more than the price. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick86
Rnd3
Domonique Orange
Domonique Orange at pick 86 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick112
Rnd4
Chandler Rivers
The board had Chandler Rivers higher than the 112th pick, and the cornerback fell to them anyway. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick154
Rnd5
CJ Baxter
CJ Baxter at pick No. 154 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick227
Rnd7
Sawyer Robertson
Sawyer Robertson at No. 227 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
