Draft Grade — Raiders
Overall B-
ValueB- NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
The Raiders bet the future on Mendoza. The board says B-.

Start where it matters. The Raiders took Fernando Mendoza to run the offense for the next decade, and every other decision this weekend bends around that one.

If Roberts pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about. That is an offensive lineman worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly.

A whole weekend of picks and edge rusher is somehow still a want.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.

Pick Analysis
Pick1 Rnd1 Fernando Mendoza
In Round 1, Pick 1 they get the face of the franchise at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick36 Rnd2 Chris Bell
No edge and no loss on Chris Bell in the 36th pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick67 Rnd3 Antonio Williams
A tidy little value on Antonio Williams in the Round 3 slot, a step better than break-even. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick102 Rnd4 Chase Bisontis
They robbed the room for Chase Bisontis here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick117 Rnd4 Jaeden Roberts
Value said wait; Jaeden Roberts in pick 117 says they were not listening. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick134 Rnd4 J.C. Davis
J.C. Davis at pick No. 134 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick175 Rnd5 Zane Durant
Zane Durant in No. 175 is fair value, right on his grade. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick185 Rnd6 Aaron Graves
A reach for Aaron Graves in slot 185; a little patience would have been rewarded. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick186 Rnd6 Ephesians Prysock
By-the-book stuff, Ephesians Prysock at No. 186 squarely in line with his ranking. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick208 Rnd6 Keyshaun Elliott
Keyshaun Elliott at the 208th pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick219 Rnd7 Xavier Nwankpa
Xavier Nwankpa at the 219th overall pick is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
