Draft Grade — Raiders
Overall
A
ValueA-

FutureA+
The Raiders won the night they stopped Perkins Jr. from sliding. Grade: A. Somebody in the 217th overall pick was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Raiders sat still while Harold Perkins Jr., the No. 133 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium. One of the weekend's best, top to bottom, and a A to show for it.
The Bryant pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over. They won the margins on every swap, and it adds up fast. The offensive lineman hole is the one line item this class does not answer.
Bottom line, they did the job about as well as it can be done.
Pick Analysis
Pick34
Rnd2
Abdul Carter
They will replay Abdul Carter at No. 34 for years; that is how good the value is. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick103
Rnd4
Jordan James
Jordan James in pick 103 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick117
Rnd4
Darrell Jackson Jr.
Steal is underselling it; Darrell Jackson Jr. at slot 117 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick126
Rnd4
Devin Neal
Circle this one: Devin Neal at the Round 4 slot is a fall that decides a draft. The roster fit checks out.
Pick138
Rnd4
Cobee Bryant
Cobee Bryant at the 138th pick is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick141
Rnd5
Deontae Lawson
A linebacker of that caliber at the 141st overall pick is the definition of value, full stop. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick163
Rnd5
Ricky White III
Ricky White III at pick No. 163 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick164
Rnd5
Mason Taylor
Mason Taylor at Round 5, Pick 26 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick178
Rnd6
Michael Taaffe
Michael Taaffe in the 178th pick is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick217
Rnd7
Harold Perkins Jr.
Harold Perkins Jr. at slot 217 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. Depth on depth, at a spot that was hardly crying out.
Pick241
Rnd7
Hunter Wohler
Hunter Wohler is a better player than the 241st overall pick suggests; smart patience, rewarded. Nice player, but the depth chart did not need him here.
Pick249
Rnd7
Thor Griffith
Thor Griffith at Round 7, Pick 35 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick254
Rnd7
Trevor Etienne
A top-tier running back at a bargain, Trevor Etienne in pick 254, plain and simple. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
