Draft Grade — Raiders
Overall B+
ValueB- NeedB TradesA+ FutureB-
The Raiders answered their biggest question with Mendoza. Grade: B+.

Start where it matters. The Raiders took Fernando Mendoza to run the offense for the next decade, and every other decision this weekend bends around that one.

The cost of the Green reach is exactly the players who went right after him. Every deal seemed to tilt their way, which is not luck. The edge rusher hole is the one line item this class does not answer.

The Ponds pick alone nudges the whole weekend up a notch.

Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.

Pick Analysis
Pick2 Rnd1 Fernando Mendoza
By-the-book stuff, Fernando Mendoza at No. 2 squarely in line with his ranking. The roster fit checks out.
Pick16 Rnd1 Arvell Reese
In Round 1, Pick 16 they get a green-dot type in the middle, and a steal at that. More want than need.
Pick36 Rnd2 Caleb Tiernan
Caleb Tiernan in the Round 2 slot is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick67 Rnd3 D'Angelo Ponds
D'Angelo Ponds is a better player than pick No. 67 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick112 Rnd4 Daylen Everette
They read the board right and Daylen Everette was the payoff at pick 112. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick117 Rnd4 Jalon Kilgore
A tidy little value on Jalon Kilgore in slot 117, a step better than break-even. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick134 Rnd4 Taylen Green
Taylen Green at the 134th pick is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick150 Rnd5 Beau Stephens
Beau Stephens in the 150th overall pick lands just on the right side of the ledger. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick174 Rnd5 Terion Stewart
Nice patience on Terion Stewart, who had no business lasting to the 174th pick. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick178 Rnd5 Kaleb Elarms-Orr
They paid sticker price for Kaleb Elarms-Orr in pick 178, and that is fine. Stacking talent where they were already deep.
