Draft Grade — Raiders
Overall B-
ValueB NeedB TradesD+ FutureB+
A respectable, level-headed haul for the Raiders: B-.

For all the names on the card, the loudest question went unanswered. The Raiders walked out of the weekend still thin at edge rusher, a hole that has a way of deciding seasons. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B-.

They will need Bowen to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. If one pick saves this weekend, it is Slaughter.

The Michael Carter II deal gives the class an established piece to lean on. They gave back a little on the phones for the right to move.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the edge rusher spot they never got to.

Pick Analysis
Pick12 Rnd1 Arvell Reese
In No. 12 they get a sideline-to-sideline linebacker. Need was not the driver here.
Pick23 Rnd1 Denzel Boston
In slot 23 they get a matchup problem out wide at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick67 Rnd3 Jake Slaughter
A tidy bit of business in pick No. 67, where Jake Slaughter graded well above the range. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick103 Rnd4 Diego Pavia
Value with a capital V on Diego Pavia in the 103rd pick, a genuine coup. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick135 Rnd4 Jaeden Roberts
Jaeden Roberts in Round 4, Pick 35 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick176 Rnd5 Aamil Wagner
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Aamil Wagner at the 176th overall pick. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick184 Rnd6 Raylen Wilson
The board had cheaper options than Raylen Wilson at pick 184, and it noticed. A want dressed up as a pick, at a spot they had covered.
Pick197 Rnd6 Peyton Bowen
A real head-scratcher, Peyton Bowen in the Round 6 slot is miles ahead of his ranking. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick219 Rnd7 Dijon Johnson
A reach on Dijon Johnson in pick No. 219; the board had better options right there. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick223 Rnd7 Brandon Inniss
They took Brandon Inniss at par in No. 223, which is nothing to complain about. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
