Draft Grade — Raiders
Overall

FutureB-
Quarterback settled, Mendoza in the fold, and a C for the Raiders. The search is over. The Raiders handed the keys to Fernando Mendoza, and the whole operation now runs on his development. A weekend of give and take that grades a C.
They handed away value on the phones that the picks cannot earn back. If Hill pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about.
The edge rusher spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. They will answer for taking linebacker early while edge rusher, running back and other spots went begging.
On value alone, Allen makes the weekend a net positive.
If Fernando Mendoza and a couple of the gambles land, hindsight will be kinder than this grade.
Pick Analysis
Pick6
Rnd1
Fernando Mendoza
In Round 1, Pick 6 they get a passer to set the clock by at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick37
Rnd2
Nyck Harbor
Nyck Harbor at pick No. 37 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick68
Rnd3
CJ Allen
Somehow CJ Allen was still sitting there in the 68th pick, and they pounced on premier linebacker value. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick89
Rnd3
Harold Perkins Jr.
The needs board was loud and they turned it down, spending the 89th overall pick on Harold Perkins Jr. with edge rusher, running back and other spots unsolved.
Pick103
Rnd4
Jyaire Hill
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Jyaire Hill well ahead of where he belonged. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick155
Rnd5
Iapani Laloulu
Iapani Laloulu at slot 155 is money in the bank, a offensive lineman taken below his worth. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick174
Rnd5
Aamil Wagner
Aamil Wagner slid further than he should have, and the Round 5 slot is lovely value for the offensive lineman. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick191
Rnd6
Trey Zuhn III
They talked themselves into Trey Zuhn III at pick 191, and the board did not agree. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick198
Rnd6
Bryce Foster
Bryce Foster at No. 198 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick225
Rnd7
Conner Weigman
Value with a capital V on Conner Weigman in the 225th overall pick, a genuine coup. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
