Draft Grade — Raiders
Overall B
ValueB NeedB TradesC FutureA
Quarterback settled, Mendoza in the fold, and a B for the Raiders.

After circling the position for what felt like forever, the Raiders committed. Fernando Mendoza is the quarterback now, and the roster gets built to his timeline. It does the job without flash, and the B reflects it.

The Bisontis pick is the one they will point to when this weekend is judged. Leaving edge rusher unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.

They will need Coogan to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it.

Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.

Pick Analysis
Pick1 Rnd1 Fernando Mendoza
In pick 1 they get a passer to set the clock by at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick67 Rnd3 Lee Hunter
Circle this one: Lee Hunter at the 67th overall pick is a fall that decides a draft. The roster fit checks out.
Pick102 Rnd4 Chase Bisontis
They barely believed it either: Chase Bisontis still on the board at the 102nd pick. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick117 Rnd4 Deion Burks
Deion Burks in the Round 4 slot is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick134 Rnd4 Will Lee III
Will Lee III at slot 134 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick175 Rnd5 Aamil Wagner
No edge and no loss on Aamil Wagner in No. 175; it is a wash and a sensible one. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick185 Rnd6 Pat Coogan
Pat Coogan in Round 6, Pick 4 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick208 Rnd6 Kaelon Black
A conviction pick on Kaelon Black at pick No. 208 that the board grades a round light. It fills a real need, too.
Pick219 Rnd7 Riley Nowakowski
Riley Nowakowski at the Round 7 slot is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick230 Rnd7 Aiden Fisher
A straight-up fair deal on Aiden Fisher at pick No. 230, value and slot in agreement. It adds depth where they could use a little.
