A passer of the future in Mendoza, and a C-, for the Raiders. There is conviction, and then there is this. The Raiders took Eric Gentry a full 130 picks ahead of where the board had him, an overdraft steep enough that it colors the whole weekend. A weekend of give and take that grades a C-.
They have staked the next five years on Fernando Mendoza, which is the only story that really matters here. The edge rusher spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.
Landing Coleman that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. They were the ones paying the moving tax this weekend.
In the end, a coin-flip class: fine today, with a wide range of outcomes ahead.
