Draft Grade — Raiders
Overall B+
ValueB- NeedB TradesB- FutureA+
The Raiders won the night they stopped Golday from sliding. Grade: B+.

The rest of the league will want that one back. Jake Golday tumbling to the Raiders in pick No. 102 is a gift they did not have to think twice about. More right than wrong, and a B+ to match.

For all the activity, quarterback went untouched, which is hard to explain. Reaching for Igbinosun left real value on the table behind him. The hoard sets up next April more than it helps this September.

Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.

Pick Analysis
Pick12 Rnd1 Kadyn Proctor
In slot 12 they get protection for the quarterback. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick16 Rnd1 Arvell Reese
In the Round 1 slot they get the heartbeat of the defense, and a steal at that. More want than need.
Pick20 Rnd1 Kayden McDonald
In pick 20 they get a wrecking ball inside at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick36 Rnd2 Elijah Sarratt
A market-rate wide receiver, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Elijah Sarratt. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick67 Rnd3 Omar Cooper Jr.
A reach on Omar Cooper Jr. in the 67th pick; the board had better options right there. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick102 Rnd4 Jake Golday
Jake Golday at pick No. 102 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick117 Rnd4 D'Angelo Ponds
D'Angelo Ponds in the 117th overall pick is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick135 Rnd4 Davison Igbinosun
A real head-scratcher, Davison Igbinosun in No. 135 is miles ahead of his ranking. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick176 Rnd5 Josh Moten
They jumped the gun on Josh Moten, taking him earlier than his grade liked. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick181 Rnd6 Quinten Joyner
Quinten Joyner at Round 6, Pick 1 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick184 Rnd6 Jaren Kanak
A reach for Jaren Kanak in slot 184; a little patience would have been rewarded. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick219 Rnd7 Jordan White
They paid up for Jordan White at No. 219 when waiting would have done the job. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
