Draft Grade — Raiders
Overall

FutureA
The Raiders let McCord fall and pounced. Final grade: A-. You build a draft on nights like this. Kyle McCord had no business being available in No. 218, and the Raiders did the only sane thing and turned in the card.
Ouzts has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. They robbed the room blind at the table, and it lifts the grade on its own.
They will answer for taking safety early while interior defensive lineman went begging. That interior defensive lineman hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.
Few war rooms will sleep better than this one tonight.
Pick Analysis
Pick27
Rnd1
Armand Membou
Nothing to complain about; Armand Membou went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick37
Rnd2
Nick Emmanwori
Nick Emmanwori at No. 37 is money in the bank, a safety taken below his worth. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick44
Rnd2
Emeka Egbuka
Emeka Egbuka at the Round 2 slot is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick56
Rnd2
Omarion Hampton
Omarion Hampton in pick 56 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. It fills a real need, too.
Pick68
Rnd3
Donovan Ezeiruaku
They paid sticker price for Donovan Ezeiruaku in the 68th overall pick, and that is fine. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick84
Rnd3
Maxwell Hairston
Maxwell Hairston slipping to slot 84 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick107
Rnd4
Emery Jones Jr.
They liked Emery Jones Jr. enough to skip the value, taking him in Round 4, Pick 6. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick108
Rnd4
Smael Mondon Jr.
Smael Mondon Jr. at pick No. 108 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick123
Rnd4
Andrew Mukuba
A curious use of No. 123. Interior defensive lineman needed the pick; a safety in Andrew Mukuba did not.
Pick128
Rnd4
Tory Horton
Tory Horton in the Round 4 slot should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick182
Rnd6
Lathan Ransom
The board fumbled Lathan Ransom all the way to the 182nd pick, and they scooped it up. They added to a strength when a need was still open elsewhere.
Pick213
Rnd6
Jay Higgins
Somehow Jay Higgins was still sitting there in Round 6, Pick 35, and they pounced on premier linebacker value. It is more luxury than necessity; they were already set here.
Pick214
Rnd6
Kyle Williams
Kyle Williams in pick 214 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick218
Rnd6
Kyle McCord
Kyle McCord at the 218th overall pick is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick224
Rnd7
Clay Webb
Clay Webb at pick No. 224 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick244
Rnd7
Robbie Ouzts
Robbie Ouzts at slot 244 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
