Best value of the weekend goes to the Raiders for Nelson: D. The phones were a trap the Raiders kept walking into, shipping out surplus on nearly every deal. A D that will need time and luck to look better.
That tight end hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. The Nelson pick alone nudges the whole weekend up a notch. They will need Fortune to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it.
The Raiders clearly valued win-now help, adding bodies who have done it before.
In short, the board sent warnings, and they will be hoping it was wrong.
