Quarterback settled, Daniels in the fold, and a D- for the Raiders. Call it a hunch or call it a gamble, but the Raiders spent pick 195 on Evan Anderson, a name most had 78 spots down the list. A weekend that fought the value and lost, hence the D-.
Everything downstream of Jayden Daniels depends on Jayden Daniels, and the building knows it. Overpaying at the table undid a lot of the good work elsewhere. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through cornerback.
The Smith pick reads as want over need, and the roster will feel it at cornerback. Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Hartman.
Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, cornerback very much included.
