The Raiders found their guy under center in Mendoza: B-.

Start where it matters. The Raiders took Fernando Mendoza to run the offense for the next decade, and every other decision this weekend bends around that one. It does the job without flash, and the B- reflects it.

McNeil-Warren at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. A whole weekend of picks and edge rusher is somehow still a want. Every board in the league had Barham lower, and that gap is the story.

The roster is better shaped than it was, with cornerback chief among the fixes.

Good work on the whole, with edge rusher the one box left unchecked.

Pick Analysis
Pick2 Rnd1 Fernando Mendoza
In the Round 1 slot they get a passer to set the clock by at fair value. A real need, handled.
Pick33 Rnd2 Kayden McDonald
By-the-book stuff, Kayden McDonald at pick No. 33 squarely in line with his ranking. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick67 Rnd3 Brian Parker II
Brian Parker II at the 67th overall pick is a conviction pick that outran the value. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick102 Rnd4 Chandler Rivers
Nice patience on Chandler Rivers, who had no business lasting to No. 102. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick111 Rnd4 Jaishawn Barham
They went early on Jaishawn Barham in pick 111, and the value did not follow. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick136 Rnd4 Emmanuel McNeil-Warren
A safety of that caliber at the 136th pick is the definition of value, full stop. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick173 Rnd5 Davison Igbinosun
Davison Igbinosun in slot 173 is fair value, right on his grade. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick183 Rnd6 DJ Campbell
DJ Campbell in Round 6, Pick 3 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick187 Rnd6 Earnest Greene III
No drama and no debate, Earnest Greene III went about where he belonged in slot 187. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick217 Rnd7 Bud Clark
A quiet steal in Round 7, Pick 2: Bud Clark for less than the market said. It is more luxury than necessity; they were already set here.
