Draft Grade — Raiders

Good, not great, for the Raiders: B-.

It is the swing that defines the weekend: Dillon Gabriel in pick No. 39, a good 85 spots before the room expected him.

The Campbell pick is the one they will point to when this weekend is judged. Leaving edge rusher unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.

In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.

Pick Analysis
Pick8 Rnd1 Ashton Jeanty
They did well to land Ashton Jeanty in No. 8, just ahead of his grade. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick39 Rnd2 Dillon Gabriel
A wild overpay on Dillon Gabriel in the 39th pick, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. The roster fit checks out.
Pick69 Rnd3 Tez Johnson
Tez Johnson at pick 69 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick70 Rnd3 TreVeyon Henderson
A quiet steal in the Round 3 slot: TreVeyon Henderson for less than the market said. It fills a real need, too.
Pick106 Rnd4 Jihaad Campbell
Jihaad Campbell in pick No. 106 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick146 Rnd5 Jacob Parrish
Jacob Parrish in slot 146 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick183 Rnd6 Joshua Gray
A tidy bit of business in pick 183, where Joshua Gray graded well above the range. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick212 Rnd6 Shilo Sanders
Shilo Sanders at the Round 6 slot is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick216 Rnd6 DJ Uiagalelei
DJ Uiagalelei at pick No. 216 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick223 Rnd7 Terrance Ferguson
A tidy little value on Terrance Ferguson in the 223rd overall pick, a step better than break-even. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
